Concrete Patios

Concrete Patios in Port Charlotte, FL

New patios, patio extensions and pool decks designed for Southwest Florida outdoor living.

In Port Charlotte, the backyard is part of the house. A well-planned concrete patio becomes the place for morning coffee, weekend grilling, family dinners and evenings outside when the heat finally breaks. The right size, shape and finish make the space feel intentional rather than an afterthought.

Port Charlotte Concrete builds new concrete patios, extends existing ones and pours pool decks for homeowners across Port Charlotte and nearby communities including North Port, Punta Gorda, Englewood and Rotonda West. We're licensed and insured, we've been in business for ten years, and our estimates are free and performed on-site.

Patio Projects We Handle

New Patios

A new slab off the back of the house, sized for dining, seating or both, with a layout that drains away from the home.

Patio Extensions

More room on an existing patio. We plan how the new concrete meets the old and how the combined surface sheds water.

Pool Decks

Concrete pool decks with comfortable, slip-conscious finishes, including stamped and textured options.

Patio Replacement

Removal and haul-away of a cracked or undersized patio, followed by a new slab in the size and shape you want.

Planning a Patio That Works

Size is the first decision. Think about the furniture you'll use, the walkways around it and whether you want separate zones for dining and lounging. A patio that feels generous on paper can become tight once a table, chairs and a grill are in place.

Shape comes next. Clean rectangles suit modern homes and maximize usable space. Curved edges soften the transition to the lawn and landscape. Many patios combine both, with a straight edge against the house and a relaxed curve facing the yard.

Drainage & Slope

Concrete patios should slope gently away from the house so rain doesn't sit against the foundation or run toward sliding doors. In a region where summer storms can drop a lot of water quickly, it's one of the most important details on the job.

Finishes & Sealing

A broom finish offers traction around pools and in wet weather. A smooth or lightly textured finish gives a cleaner, contemporary look under covered areas. Decorative stamped and textured finishes add the appearance of stone or slate, and concrete sealing is available to help protect the surface.

Lanai Slabs & Covered Areas

Many Port Charlotte homes extend outdoor living under a roofed lanai. We pour lanai slabs and the concrete around them as the concrete contractor; we don't build screen enclosures or roofs. When a patio is part of a larger outdoor project, we coordinate the concrete portion of the work.

Permits, HOAs & Commercial Spaces

Some patio projects require a permit or HOA approval, depending on the property and community. We can assist with required permitting and HOA approval processes for applicable projects. We also pour patios and outdoor gathering areas for commercial properties.

Connecting the Yard

A new patio often reveals the need for better paths around the property — from the driveway to the back gate, or from the patio to a shed or garden. Our concrete sidewalks and walkways tie those spaces together.

Extending an Existing Patio

Many homes already have a small patio poured when the house was built, often just enough for a couple of chairs. A patio extension adds concrete next to the existing slab so the space finally fits the way you live. The key decisions are where the new section meets the old one, whether the two surfaces should look matched or intentionally different, and how the combined patio will shed water.

Sometimes the original patio is cracked, low or poorly sloped. In that case it can make more sense to remove the old slab, haul it away and pour one continuous new patio rather than attach new concrete to a surface that already has problems. We'll look at the existing concrete during the free on-site estimate and explain which approach fits.

Pool Deck Considerations

Pool decks get wet feet, bare feet and constant sun. Surface texture matters for comfort and footing, and slope matters so splash water and rain drain away from the pool and the house. Decorative stamped and textured finishes are a popular way to give a pool deck a stone-like look, and sealing can be added where it suits the finish.

Questions

Concrete Patio Questions

Don't see your question? Call 941-393-0737.

Can you extend my existing patio?

Yes. Patio extensions are one of our most common requests. We'll look at the existing slab, how the new section will meet it and how water will drain across the finished surface.

Do you pour pool decks?

Yes. We pour concrete pool decks, including stamped and textured finishes. We work as the concrete contractor; pool construction and screen enclosures are handled by others.

What finish is best for a patio?

It depends on use and style. Broom finishes add traction, smooth finishes feel modern, and stamped or textured concrete adds a decorative surface. Sealing is available to help protect the finish.

Do you replace old patios?

Yes. We can remove the existing concrete, haul it away and pour a new patio, often with a new size or shape.
